- What is a digital footprint and why is it important to you?
It is what I post and put on my social media accounts, what you do, where you go on the internet/ digital platforms. It is important to me because it is mine – it is who I am it is my story, what I do and is personal.
- How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.
Posting something somewhere inappropriate somewhere can be hurtful to possibly getting a job. Future employers may not interview you. Once it is on the internet is the property of the internet and can be found.
Possibly not getting into a post secondary institution – may not take you in because they don’t identify with certain types of behaviour.
- How can you demonstrate digital integrity online?
Post appropriate things – think before I post – visit legit websites – stay away dodgey places.
- Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
- Be in control of what is posted by me or by others. Make sure if I am tagged that I gave permission for it to be posted
- Not to post valuable / expensive things might give predators the wrong impression of you.
- Don’t post your location – or your personal information – keep it clean.
