Character in action

The pillar I chose was Perseverance. Perseverance is “doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success”. Terry Fox is a great example of perseverance. After being diagnosed with cancer, Terry had noticed other cancer patients suffering and most of them being children. He wanted to raise money for cancer research. Even though Terry’s leg was amputated and that causing a lot of pain he decided to run across Canada asking everyone to help him raise this money.

A group of people I feel like have persevered too is the Trans community. I specifically watch this trans girl on TikTok @veondre. She Is a black/Latinx trans woman which is going to cause a lot of hate with people who don’t agree or dislike her. She perseveres through all the hate she gets by anonymous online trolls and bullies and stays confident posting TikTok’s showing off her body.

I think these examples of perseverance are great because it shows people we can do much more than we think and to overcome obstacles that come in your way.
