Course Name: English 9

Course Teacher: Ms. Li

Reflection: English                                                                                                                             Nov 6th, 2019

This year in English we have done lodes of technology-based assignments. We have done nearly if not all are assignments online on devices. One of the most useful things that we did was use office 365. This is something that I used a lot last year as well as a bit the year before, last year my school switched to a B.Y.O.D. (bring your own device) school. We mainly used one note, word, and outlook. I for one find typing easer than writing and more efficient. This is something that I have always found and now I love that in almost all my subjects there is always an option to do so.

Another thing that Ms. Li (my English teacher for most of the year so far) changed was the way you could sign up for flex. She had a QR code that you would scan and then it would take you to a survey pick what day or days you would be in and then she didn’t have to take attendance the day of. It was so easy for us because I could just do it on my phone, and it would be done.

We also used a website called Grammerflip. It is a grammar website that we work on every Tuesday. I think this is something that is very useful because you don’t have do waist paper and the teacher does not have to do much. It rewards you with themed badges that you can earn as the levels go on getting harder and harder. Each level is something different and consists of a test to see where you are in the topic at hand, three mini practice quizzes, and a final test. it is easy and efficient.

I think that we can use freshgrade more. It could be a tool that we could use as students not just teachers. I did this last year and it was easy to get stuff posted on freshgrade. That is the way we could hand in lodes of are work that was not on our computer or that we just could email. This could be useful so if we where away or sick we could just take a photo of are project and hand it in there, then when we get back to school, we could hand in the physical copy.
