Our Worms currently have shown no signs of eating the plastic. We had two jars with ziplock plastic and two with packaging plastics. One of the ziplock jars had 6 worms and in the other 7. Same goes for the packaging plastic jar. Most of our worms now dead and haven’t figured out the cause. It could be for many reasons temperature, oxygen, food, etc.
Our new plan is to get new worms and test them in a new environment. We are also going to try and add more food as well as the plastic to see if they thrive more. We are going to replaces the lids with plastic wrap so we can punch holes in it to allow more oxygen to the worms. We are gonna monitor the temperature more closely with a thermometer to make sure the worms are not over heating or freezing. We are going to try the same amount of worms in each jar though because smaller numbers allows us to see more closely how each worm is doing in its environment.
