Belcarra Regional Park

On November 8th, 2024, we went on a field trip to Belcarra Regional Park. It was rainy, but we still had fun. The two main activities were a nature walk and crab fishing. On the walk, we saw bright salmon berries, red huckleberries, and European holly with its spiky leaves. We also found blackberries along the trail. At a small lake, I had fun skipping rocks and managed to skip one ten times!

After lunch, we went crab fishing. We saw starfish and jellyfish, and our teacher set up a crab net where we saw and held Dungeness crabs before letting them go. Seals appeared as the day went on, and I even saw one eating a crab. It was a great way to end to the day. I also drew pictures of the crabs, berries, and a map of Belcarra.
