Background:
I was born in Toronto, but my parents were born in Korea, resulting that I am also Korean. I was raised in New Westminster most of what I can remember. I went to Connaught Heights for elementary school, and Glenbrook Middle and Ecole Citadel Middle. (I moved to PC right before Grade 6 ended.)

Hobbies:
I enjoy playing video games, writing, sometimes reading, video editing, and multiple other things. Still looking for more!

Goals:
My future plan so far is to work for IT. I still haven’t decided what to work for in IT but that’s the basic plan I’m making. Before IT, I’m planning to work at Best Buy for my high school job. That way I can get employee discounts and prepare for IT.

At Terry Fox, there are 4 pillars. Kindness, Perseverance, Integrity, and Leadership.

Kindness:

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate toward others. It involves acts of compassion, empathy, and support, often without expecting anything in return. Kindness can manifest in small gestures, like offering a smile or helping someone in need, as well as larger acts of charity and service. Ultimately, kindness fosters connection and understanding, creating a positive impact on individuals and communities alike.

Perseverance: 

Perseverance is the steadfast determination to continue pursuing a goal or overcoming challenges, despite difficulties, setbacks, or obstacles. It involves maintaining focus, resilience, and a strong commitment to one’s objectives, even when faced with adversity. This quality is essential for achieving success, as it encourages individuals to push through hardships, learn from failures, and stay motivated in their endeavors.

Integrity:

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It involves adhering to ethical standards, being consistent in actions and values, and maintaining a sense of truthfulness and fairness in all situations. Integrity means doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult or when no one is watching, and it fosters trust and respect in relationships, whether personal or professional.

Leadership: 

Leadership is the ability to guide, inspire, and influence individuals or groups toward achieving a common goal. It involves setting a vision, making decisions, and motivating others through effective communication and collaboration. A strong leader demonstrates qualities such as empathy, integrity, and resilience, fostering an environment where team members feel valued and empowered to contribute. Ultimately, leadership is about creating a positive impact and driving progress within an organization or community.

 

Out of the 4 pillars I choose Integrity. Integrity is fundamental to building trust and fostering healthy relationships, both personally and professionally. It embodies the principles of honesty, accountability, and moral uprightness, serving as a guiding compass for our actions and decisions. When individuals act with integrity, they create an environment where open communication and respect thrive, encouraging others to do the same. This not only enhances teamwork and collaboration but also reinforces a culture of ethical behavior, which can lead to greater overall success. In a world where values can sometimes be overlooked, integrity stands as a vital pillar that upholds dignity and credibility, shaping our character and the impact we have on those around us.

 

I choose Mark Rober as my example.

This video was the first video that I had watched from Mark Rober. After watching this video, I became a fan of Mark Rober almost immediately. His videos are not only educative, but also entertaining. I could watch his videos for hours in one sitting. This video demonstrates integrity as he has made the Backyard Squirrel Maze as a project lasting 3+ years.

YouTube can benefit people in numerous ways:

Reflecting on Integrity, I aim to show my skill everyday with:
