Step 1: Setting Up the Workspace
- Open Fusion 360 and start a new project.
- Set the correct units for your project (e.g., millimeters or inches) by going to Document Settings in the browser.
- Save your project with an appropriate name, like “House Design.”
Step 2: Create the Base of the House
- Click on Create > Create Sketch and select the bottom plane.
- Use the Rectangle Tool to sketch the footprint of the house. Input precise dimensions
- Finish the sketch and use Extrude to give the base a thickness
Step 3: Designing the Walls
- Create a new sketch on the base’s surface.
- Use the Offset Tool to draw an offset rectangle for the walls, leaving room for wall thickness
- Use the Extrude tool to raise the walls to the desired height
Step 4: Adding Windows and Doors
- Sketch rectangles where windows and doors should be located on the walls.
- Use Extrude Cut to cut through the walls and create the openings.
Step 5: Adding Interior Details
- Create sketches for interior partitions. Use the Line Tool or Rectangle Tool to design walls, cabinets, or shelves.
- Extrude the interior elements to appropriate heights.
Step 6: Adding the Roof
- Select the top edges of the walls and use Create > Loft or Create > Sweep to design the roof.
- Adjust the angle or slope of the roof as needed.
Step 7: Detailing the Kitchen or Other Interiors
- For the kitchen, create sketches for counters and appliances like a stove, sink
- Use the Extrude and Fillet tools to give the features realistic shapes.
Step 8: Refining the Design
- Add realistic elements like a staircase, chimney, or ventilation ducts by sketching and extruding shapes.
- Use the Modify > Fillet and Chamfer tools to smooth edges or add visual appeal.
Step 9: Rendering
- Switch to the Render workspace.
- Assign materials (e.g., wood for floors, glass for windows) using the Appearance Tool.
- Set up lighting and backgrounds to create a realistic rendered view of your house.
