Drafting 9

~ Folder Stickers ~

The first machine we used in drafting were the Cricut machines. We made designs for our folders, like making your own name tags, stickers for our cohort name (turtles) and for our science safety rule assignment. It was fun designing these and seeing them get cut out in the machine, also peeling the stickers off and sticking it was fun especially sticking scrapes on my friends computer.

~ Balloon Car ~

We used TinkerCad to design our balloon cars and 3D print them afterwards. It was cool watching and seeing the end result of the 3D printed cars. Once me and Lynden printed our version the car it moved smoothly and actually moved. (My #1 version the black one, didn’t move at all) Our car (the blue one) got far with a 3.6m.

~ Thaumatrope ~

We used the laser cutter to burn out cardboard into these thaumatropes we designed. Thaumatropes are like when two images are combined together when quickly spun around a center point. I made mine a campfire, separating the fire and the logs onto opposite sides, so when spun they’d be together. We used Adobe designer to draw it then placed it into Laserbox to connect to our laser cutter. Watching the laser slowly burn through was cool, we just had to be careful of fires!  🔥🔥🔥
