Plastics Lab
- Message of the film:
The message of the film is not saying that you have to go out and change the world, but simply watch what you are doing at home. When you throw out a plastic bottle, where does it go?
- Summary:
No matter how you get rid of your plastic, it will always go into the ground. Dumping it into a dump doesn’t work and re-using plastics by melting them down and re shaping them to be used again often only gets used once more before being dumped. Even the water we drink and the food that we eat isn’t safe. There are micro plastics in water from our pipes and any fish has micro plastics in their flesh because the water has plastic in it. From littering and land fills many farms have micro plastics in the dirt. This means that almost any animal that eats the grass has a chance of getting micro plastics into the meat that we eat.
The documentary, A Plastic Ocean, begins with the Director Craig Lesson…
- Biases:
The documentary A Plastic Ocean, directed by Craig Leeson, is centered around the environmental crisis caused by plastic pollution in the world’s oceans. The film follows Craig Leeson, with a team of scientists, researchers, and environmental activists, as they travel around the globe to expose the devastating impact of plastic waste on marine life and even human health.
The basis of the documentary is to raise awareness about the contamination of oceans by plastic, including the discovery of plastic particles in remote parts of the planet. It explores the dangers of microplastics, the long-lasting environmental damage they cause, and the need for solutions to reduce plastic consumption, improve waste management, and clean up our oceans. The film highlights the environmental, social, and economic consequences of plastic pollution and to inspire people, communities, and governments to take action.
The Director, Craig Lesson…
- Reflection:
The whole documentary is about how bad plastics are for the environment. He uses a personal note in the documentary about how we partially depend on plastics to stay alive. He talks about hoe his daughter was born with something wrong. He talks about the time when he went to go see her and she was in a plastic cage with plastic tubes keeping her alive. This brings up the point that we need plastics to save lives even if it kills earth.

March Mammal Madness Bracket 2025

I thought the Tasmanian Devil would win because they are known to be highly territorial and aggressive. Their attacks, which involve lunging and biting, are much stronger than those of the Langur. Additionally, I believe the Devil’s screams would have intimidated the Langur, especially since the battle would take place in the Devil’s territory rather than the Langur’s.
