1. Phone vs Desktop

Below is a list of tasks you must complete before the end of the day on your phone and on your desktop. You will compare how each device differs in how you need to complete each task. Make notes on a word or notepad document. Some guiding questions that may help you:

  • do you use a browser?
  • do you use an application?
  • Is it easier/challenging to do on one or either device?
  1.  Take a photo of something (how would you do this with a desktop or laptop?)
  2.  Email the photo to me – tchastkavich@sd43.bc.ca (use any photo for the Desktop)
  3.  Go to the city website and identify the number of road closures there currently are.
  4.  Go to the school website and find the video on Chess at Terry Fox.
  5.  Find out what the weather will be tomorrow.
  6.  Do a google search for cute cats.
  7.  If you have an instagram or snapchat account, begin the steps to post something (you don’t have to actually post anything).
  8.  If you have an account on twitter or facebook, begin the steps to post something (you don’t have to actually post anything).
  9.  Play a game
  10.  Watch a short video
  11.  Play a song
  12.  Read the latest news headlines
  13.  Open a google doc

Lastly, on your Word Document or Notepad, note the advantages and disadvantages both devices have in general. Which device do you prefer for which activities? Why?
