- History – The Kenney Space Center was built in 1962, as the main launch site for NASA’s space missions. It was the place where the Apollo 11 mission launched in 1969, sending the first astronauts to the moon. Since then, the Space Center is still used to launch rockets and is a popular place to learn about space in general
- Purpose – The purpose of the KSC is to launch rockets and spacecrafts into the space. It also helps scientists explore space and learn more about our universe.
- My experience – My visit to the KSC was a really interesting experience. We got to learn about the very first rocket launch, how long it took for it to actually work, and experience a realistic rocket launch simulation. Overall, it was entertaining and educational.
- What I learned – I learned how the first rocket was designed, and that it took many attempts to get it right and working. Even a small mistake in the design could lead to big changes in the end, and this shows how important trial and error is in the process.
- What I found interesting – I found it interesting how they were able to replicate the simulation for a rocket launch, because it made me wonder how they were able to make it feel like the actual thing.
