This is my group’s Minecraft project based on the short story we wrote in English class. This is a story about the downfall of the Minoan empire from the perspective of a different island. It was my responsibility to create the story outline and the online survey. Technology was used to record the video and to help me make my survey. The entire village that was created in Minecraft was also built with the help of technology. The entire Minecraft portion that was done online was done with the help of it. 

For my writing prompt, I chose my group’s Minecraft project as you can see above. I chose this because I think it turned out great. This assignment was about picking a natural disaster that once happened and writing your own short story about it. My group and I chose the volcanic explosion that caused an earthquake which caused a tsunami, which wiped a lot of islands off the map by the Greek Islands. Our story tells the perspective of what happened before and during the chaos of all the events.

I chose the Minecraft video as my writing prompt because my group and I worked on it very hard and handed in the assignment on time, unlike the other groups who handed it in a month later. This story also has some events that were based on my past. For example, my tragic story of rain was based on true events that happened back in pre-school. Our video also made Mr. Cheng laugh, so that counts as an accomplishment.

For all the readers out there, I would very much advise you to pick your passion project way ahead of time, so you don’t have to worry about it when the time comes to pick it. Keep in mind that you can do ANYTHING you want to do for your passion project. For example, you can build a robot, write a book, build a model of a house, create a new element, etc. Be careful though because the project you pick, you will have to work on that for 4 months. Pick something to do that you are interested in.
