Pitch

For my project I chose to design a scaled model of a hotel and a hotel room. I decided to do this because I enjoy interior design and decorating. My inspiration came to me when I was surrounded by nice hotels in Mexico.

I had to change my project because another group were making a model of a house which I also wanted to do, but I decided to change it, so we don’t have the same project. While measuring I made a few mistakes, but it turned out fine. I used fusion, the laser cutter and 3D printer to make it.

These were the plans made on fusion. The big hotel had to be redone because I forgot to add windows and the room also had to be redone because I forgot to add a bathroom.

The end product turned out fine, but it was more of a very basic model of a hotel, then a more professional model, which is what I was intending to make, but that’s a project for next year, I guess. Some goals I have for the future is to make it look better and more professional, as well as adding more detail to the model and making it look more realistically accurate.

These were the final products (poster board, hotel exterior, hotel room). Turned out somewhat good. Personally, I like my poster board more than my project.

Overall, the STEAM fair went well, people and visitors liked my project and asked questions. The poster board was somewhat eye-catching because of the nice, printed images. The pizza was great, I got to walk around and check out the other cool projects which were also very well done. My goal for next year is to have a more professionally done project that looks nice and attracts more people and more interactable, so visitors actually enjoy it.
