Environmental Law Project

In my science class, I have learned about the fundamentals of ecosystems and the environment.

This is my presentation on proposing a law to protect an IUCN Red List endangered species. The species in question is the African Wild Donkey, which I chose because of its other name.

Reflection

Reflecting on the assignment, something to work on for future presentations is making the slides concise, using less images and animations to make it straightforward. Also, a good addition to my work habits would be getting rid of distractions so I can focus better. I could apply this to my passion project.

Owl Pellet Dissection

We had to dissect an owl pellet and reconstruct the skeleton of an animal it ate. First, we gathered our supplies, then we started picking away at it with our tools like a probe and tweezers to extract all the bones. After we got all of them out, we immersed them in hydrogen peroxide to get them clean. Finally, we were given a sheet to identify the bones in our pile and how to make the skeleton. An obstacle we faced is that some of our bones were missing or damaged, so we had to improvise. I definitely preferred this over the frog dissection because it was a relaxing and repetitive task with no pressure.
