3D Model House
For my passion project I wanted to do something not to complexed but also something not to easy so I choses to make a 3D model house. I choses to do the 3D model house because I thought architecture wasn’t to difficult to do but also because I had my sister to help me with it. I also wanted to do something related to my grandparents but couldn’t think of anything at the time so I thought “why not try building something based off their house.”

Progress
While creating the House I was very indecisive when trying to pick the scale but eventually chose 1:12. The blueprints of the House was easy to create but a bit messy. When putting everything into Xtools. I struggled with designing the windows but found a way to get it to the way I wanted. After laser-cutting all the parts for the house it was easy to assemble the walls of the house together because of the puzzle method I used. I had to change a piece for the lights; I added holes to the cardboard using the lasercutter. After cutting it I placed the lights through the holes. An issue I had was when placing a cardboard piece inside the house. I wasn’t able to get it to stay in place when gluing it down, so instead I used tape to hold it in place. For the extra wires I created a tower to hide them in.

Final Product
I was able to complete the house and posterboard on time. I made a few tweaks to my board and added pictures too. My project works and I was able to add furniture and lights to it. I learned that building model houses aren’t as simple as they seem from the outside, you need to take measurements and have a scale. And you may need to compromise some things for specific things in the house for it to work. If I were to attempt this again I would make the house much bigger because I wasn’t able to design the inside of my house the way I wanted due to it’s size. Also if possible add some color to the house.
