Hyde Creek Boat Race

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, I went to Hyde Creek. At Hyde Creek, we got supplies to make a boat and those supplies were Cardboard, duck tape, tape, pencils, pencil crayons, a ruler and a cardboard cutter. We had about lunch to make a successful cardboard boat that would be able to get to the finish line. There were three awards: an award for the best sinking, fastest boat, and the longest float. While making the boat, I enjoyed creating the pieces and forming the boat. After creating the structure of the boat, we added tape to the outside of the boat to waterproof it, but during the race, it didn’t seem to do much. During lunch, we got to talk to friends and were given pizza, soda, and chips. After lunch, we went down to the pool to race; during the race, my boat made it to the end but ended up sinking when it reached the finish line. Overall the race was a fun field trip and if I ever got the chance to do it over again I would make improvements to my next boat.
