My name is Hayden. one of my favorite past times is rock climbing. I’ve been climbing trees and stuff for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t actually start climbing until February of this year. I also love to play video games, my favorite ones being super Mario bros for the Wii and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Another thing about me is that I love watching TV and my favorite show is Brooklyn 99, a really funny cop show.
Perseverance is when you get back up even when you fail over and over and over again. Kindness is when you are nice to someone without expecting anything in return. Integrity is when you’re honest and have strong morals. Leadership is taking over something and standing up to lead a group of people.
The word I chose was Perseverance. I chose this word because in my favorite sport (Rock Climbing) you will almost never do a difficult climb first try, you need to fail in order to solve the climb and complete it. For example it took Adam Andrea a bunch of attempts to climb V-17’s (the hardest grade for climbing) And he learned from his mistakes and kept on trying and eventually did it. That’s why I love climbing because I love trial and error, as long as its not to much failing because then it gets kind of annoying. Also in video games you need to have trial and error , like in 90% of all Zelda games you need to do the puzzle at least like three or four times before you get it right.
Adam Ondra
The person i chose to represent Perseverance is a famous rock climber Adam Ondra. Adam is a professional rock climber and is my personal favorite climber. Adam climbs some pretty insane routes while climbing and even if he fails he still pushes through to reach the end of the route and learns from his mistakes. That’s why I love rock climbing, just because the feeling of happiness and that adrenaline rush you get when you finally complete the climb you’ve been working on for months is so rewarding. The reason why I chose Adam Ondra to represent Perseverance is because that’s mainly what he does, gets back up after he falls no matter how many times he does.
This is my YouTube link to a video Adam posted. It talks about Adam and how he climbed the worlds hardest route, Silence, a 9c climb, and all the struggles, training and accomplishments he did. I picked this video because it is a video of him and his struggles but eventually overcoming them and finishing the climb.
This is the link to a meaningful website. I chose this website because this helped me get through games when I was younger. It has a bunch of tips and tricks for all of my favorite Mario games that were a bit too difficult when I was a kid.
How do I use the pillars in everyday life?
I know this whole page I talked about Perseverance, but that’s basically what I use everyday because I’m a climber. I use Perseverance every single time I go to the gym. If I don’t, climbing won’t be fun anymore because I won’t feel any sense of accomplishment when I do the climb first try all the time.
