Balloon Cars

In this assignment, I had to create a car from the site Tinkercad. I had to learn new skills, how to modify my projects, saving it, and exporting it. In this project, I had to place down objects as instructed, and I had to learn shape, group and seperate the cars. the wheels were a struggle for me, as I couldn’t fit the wheels perfectly. But in the end, I managed to measure correctly, and print the car. I next had to blow up a balloon and place it on the car hole. the balloon’s air made it so the car would accelerate and race forward. Mine did not go far, but it was still fun racing my car with my friend’s. The stickers on the folders were an earlier project, where I had to cut and design materials and print them.

Thaumatrope

In this assignment, I got to learn how to use the laser cutter/laser box. There are a specific amount of power you need to use to cut on your project. But before you cut it, you need to make your design. I designed an anime character called Gogeta, and made a punching effect to follow through. You need to make a design, and cut it on a circular cardboard disc. then on the other side, you need to cut an effect, or something else. Then you insert a stick on the bottom middle of the Thaumatrope, then spin it. Then, with enough speed, both of the cuts will appear on one side, and it will look like it fused with one another. To activate the laser box, you need to highlight your project, and for the circular cut, apply maximum strength, as we need to cut out the disc fully. Then the design . you need to loosen the power, but not fully, as the cut may not show. Then after the settings are done, you need to activate it. I researched what the thaumatrope was, and it is a Victorian toy that was meant to show the phenomenon of vision. Some things I found challenging for this project was the strength and speed. I didn’t fully understand how much to put, so I had a lot of trial and errors. One thing that went smoothly was the drawing. It came easy to me so I had a lot of time to print the cardboard. Overall I had fun making this and I think I did proficiently.
