BOAT RACE IN HYDE CREEK!:
As you can see, we don’t really have that many photos. The reason for that is because all our group members completely forgot to take any picture at all. Good thing Mr. Tsuka already took some pictures. Phew….. Anyways, during this boat race we made a couple mistakes. The first mistake was picking the wrong priorities to focus on. So basically we did not plan anything before this race, and we only really enhanced the bottom part of the boat , instead of the sides. This was one the reason why we barely finished the race, and failed the float test in less than 10 seconds before sinking. The second mistake would be not getting stuck, and not picking the right people to paddle. As you might know, I am a very light person, but my group members and I have decided to pick Ethan(might be the heaviest and least strong) to paddle. With these two mistakes, we weren’t able to make any progress. Overall, this boat race was very fun, and I was able to learn to plan before doing a big project or anything really. Another lesson would also be picking the right person to paddle. Even if you have a higher mass, it does not necessary mean that its better. In fact, I found that more mass equals more pressure on the boat, which is the more water it has to be displaced. This affects the buoyancy of the boat because it makes the boat have to work more to float, which is worse for the boat race.
