Ecology Powerpoint:
In this assignment, I was asked to make a Powerpoint of a specie that I chose, which was a hammerhead shark. The Powerpoint was difficult because I had to choose which information to add on to it since I only had 5 mins to present it. Overall, the Powerpoint looks smooth, and I’m pretty proud of it because I was able to learn how to add notes/script to a Powerpoint.
OWL PELLET DISSECTION:
In this assignment, I had to do it in either on my own, or with a partner. I chose to pick my partner, Ethan. The Owl pellet dissection might seem very fun to do, but I was completely wrong. There was only one pellet we had to dissection, but there were many bones that were hidden deep within the pellet. The bones sticked many feathers, which made it very hard to clean them. Even with our acid that Ms. Lauder provided us with, we weren’t able to . Throughout this assignment, I learned a lot about owls, and corrected some of the misunderstandings that I had about owls. I learned that owls’ pellet aren’t actually their poo, it is just their furs. The challenges that I faced was trying to assemble to skeleton with limited amount of bones. The reason for that is because we had multiple animals, but none of them had all the bones. This activity connected to what we learned in class, which is biology. Biology connects to dissection because you can explore anatomy of animals. This activity helped me learn a lot of then just worksheet since I’m a more visual learner. Overall, even this activity was very painful to do, I still had lots of fun doing this activity.
