How did your project go?
My project went suprisingly well. I think I potrayed my presentation perfectly with the video the option to play the game, and the poster. The only thing I would do different would be to change rooms (didnt get too much interest in the drafting room, not even sure people knew it was there). Apart from that, I think it went perfectly.
How was the event?
The event was great. It was a little bit busier than I thought it would be, and there were some waves where 5+ people were playing and looking at the poster. At first it was a bit overwhelming, but afterwards it went very smoothly. My expectations were beyond met. It was like what I thought it was gonna be but 5x cooler.
What would you do differently or keep?
Another thing I would do differently would be to add a keybind that instantly goes back to the title screen for a new player to play. My future plans for this project would be to continue working on it and finish it, and if it looks good, maybe upload it to the Steam games??
How was the process?
Honestly, I didnt do too much planning. I just went straight into Gamemaker studio and starting working on it. I did have to research a little bit on what the characters from Pokemon and Legend of Zelda looked like. My original plan was to complete this entire series on Youtube explaining how to make a game, but I only got to episode 5 (it still worked out better than I thought).
How was your presentation?
I think my presentation was good. I didnt have to explain too much since the description said it all, and I just had to elaborate on it. I feel like I didnt really need to be there apart from answering questions, as the poster, video, and game explained majority of it. Next time, I will add more color to my poster. I felt a little bit rushed since I spent all my time on the game, but I think I managed to do a pretty good job.
Overall, I enjoyed this project and learned so much stuff on game developing that I ever could. I hope that my STEAM 10 project will be even better.
