Mary Maloney began to giggle because she had just killed three birds with one stone. She had secretly been planning the murder of her husband for weeks. When she went to the grocery store, she picked up poison from the grocer who was in on it the whole time. When she came home, she poisoned the lamb leg. When the detectives went to eat the lamb leg, they were eating the evidence and consuming their fate at the same time.
