Passion Project 2025

For this year’s project, Emma and I decided to make a photobooth. To code the website, I used HTML, Java, and CSS. HTMLs are usually used for making websites, so it was the ‘base’ of my website; and JavaScript is the main structure of the website, which can easily explained as ‘thinking’; and lastly, CSS is the styling part. I honestly enjoyed learning CSS the most because I was able to look at my website getting more clean and neat.

Challenge

The biggest challenge for me was the coding because I never knew how to code before this project. So I started my research about HTML in September. However, I figured out, to make a website that I want, I would have to use 2 other languages which is Java Script and CSS; and JavaScript was too hard for me to learn, so I asked my friend to help and teach me on how to use JavaScript for my website. I really thank my friend for helping me because even though he was on a vacation in Korea, he still decided to help me. So I stayed up until 3 or 4am most of the time just to match the time difference and finish my coding.

Booth

We used 2 poster board each side to make the wall. It was funny but uncomfortable carrying those walls around because the wall was 6ft and we got so many questions of why our poster board is so big. On the left side of the wall, Emma made the props so people can use it when they are taking pictures. And surprisingly, by the end of the day, the props were completely fine, and not damaged. On the right side of the wall, we had some example photos of poses so people can try if they didn’t know what pose to do.

Result

Our result of the photobooth was really successful because over 100 people have used our product and made great memories through it.

Improvements?

If I decide to work more on this project next year, I would upgrade my website by adding filters, or making it into an actual app so people can use it on their phone.
