Drafting Portfolio

GRADE 9 (2022-2023)

This is the first drafting project I’ve ever created, and it isn’t my best. My first attempt at using AutoCAD didn’t go too well either…

I drew these to prepare for the perspective drawings, and to work on shading 3D objects. I had fun with these

I really enjoyed drawing these perspective drawings, especially this one. As you can see, I used a spooky theme because Halloween was just down the corner.

My least favorite perspective drawings by far. I could’ve done better on this for sure. I loved the image we used for this. Unfortunately, my shading skills and ruler did not do me justice.

I really love my shading in this drawing. The only thing that would’ve made it better is if I added something in the background, and if I fixed the top of the building a bit. But pushing that aside, I am really pleased by my final product!!

The STEAM fair came around, and I finished my Passion Project. I made homemade handwarmers, and on my page, you can find what I made and the backstory. The STEAM fair went really well considering I’ve only attended it once and didn’t know what to expect. Here are my handwarmers! (the logo was made using the sticker cutter)

At last, my very first sticker was drawn on AUTOCAD and cut on the sticker cutter by me. It took me a while to understand how to use the sticker cutter, but when I got it, no greater happiness was found. This sticker obviously looks like my first sticker, as it is very crooked and inaccurate; however, I am very proud of my lemon.

Even by just seeing it, its clear I’ve improved from the lemon. For my warning sign sticker, I used the arc tool on AUTOCAD to make sure my lines were cut clean and precisely. I originally had the border and insides, but they were the wrong size, and I tried about 4 times to get the right size, and they still refused to fit.

I carried this phone case around for a while, but since it got so dirty (as you can see in the photo) , I had to just store it in my room where its on display. The blue sticker is a border and insides from the warning sticker, one of the wrong sized ones. The lemon is of course, the outline from my first sticker. The stickers were worn out and peeling off now, but when I carried it around before, I received compliments on them.

MY FAVOURITE STICKER CREATION BY FAR. I absolutely ADORE the sticker paper color I chose for this sticker. It’s super glossy, too, and you can even see my phone reflection from it. This is my own logo, and I’m just so proud of it.

Our finished tower! I think it looks great. Kira did the gluing and painting, I laser cut and handmade the furniture on AutoCad, and Kelly designed most of the structure, and of course our whole group contributed with the structure.

My first lazer-tag creation! Here I present to you Binny the beluga whale. Every setting for Binny’s details were hand-chosen by yours truly. As Binny’s owner, I get bragging rights. Binny has such exquisite markings on his outline, beak, tail, and fins. And we can’t miss his eye-hole. Literally. Cute, useful (for hanging, like as a keychain), and handmade, Binny is now 75% off at Beluga.com. JUST KIDDING.

“Practice makes perfect” is a huge phrase I took in Drafting. These coins are perfect examples of this saying. The coin on the left burned through on the bottom because of the high setting, and the coin on the right didn’t burn at all, because I accidentally deleted the part.

Our group (Kelly, Kira, and I) struggled while learning how to use fusion 360, because we never used it before. But we are proud of how our tower turned out to be like! We each all have our own rooms as well. There is a kitchen, small living area, bathroom, and a discovery room with an office, library with workspace, and an area for any recreational activities.

This is a floor I made myself from first trying out the app. I’m not too happy with how it turned out, but it was still a good learning experience for me to use fusion.

I enjoyed designing my windmill, more than I liked the tower project, surprisingly. I made a few failed windmills as well, which did not get any voltage because the blades weren’t angled enough. So here is my windmill being tested out!

GRADE 10 (2023-2024)

My new one point perspective drawing! I like it much better than last years.

This is my new 2-point perspective, of Blakeburn Lagoon.

I did do a 3-point perspective as well, but I’m not satisfied with it, and will make a new one by the end of semester 1.

This is Kelly, Kira, and my finished gravity car! We 3D printed the front wheel, and used spools for the back wheels. I lazer-cut the body of the car, and we used an empty cardboard  toilet paper roll as the axel.

Ashley and I created a model of Venus for our astronomy project. We used 2 different styrofoam balls for the base, a bigger one for the plant and a smaller chunk for the core. We then used chalk and paint to display the layers of the mantle and crust. Lastly to show clouds, we used cotton balls.

For my Career Discovery Project, I 3-D printed a model to show the circulation of blood.

For the bath bomb project, I 3-d printed a bath bomb mold of Cinnamonroll, a Sanrio character that I like. Unfortunately, the bath bomb didn’t make it out safely, and the issue was that the walls were too thick. Next time if I make a mold, I will make sure to shell it thinner.

This is the shape I was going for.

Hello! It’s been a while since I updated this portfolio, but I’m back with good news! I finally completed designing a nest box/birdhouse for the Bewick’s Wren.

Here’s the backside with a little image of my bird~

The frontside, which took me a process of trial and error- I ended up engraving the design over the already made front. Perseverance!

The sides, with some information and a fun fact about the Bewick’s Wren!

And lastly, the bottom with holes in the shape of a heart~~

I’m very satisfied with how it turned out! Stay tuned for more!
