Your “About Me” page is an introduction about you and a place to practice building your website. As you get more comfortable, it becomes an opportunity to express who you are and share the things you like to do. Your blog is where you can share your growth and experiences of Digital Learning at Terry Fox Secondary. As you customize this page DELETE the INSTRUCTIONS so that only your work is published and when you share this page, share the published page (not the edit page).
How to Complete Your About Me Page
To familiarize yourself with the capabilities of your blog, follow the steps below.
Step 1:
To begin editing your About Me page, click the “Edit Page” button located at the top of the screen.
Step 2:
As you make changes to your page, simply press “Update” on the upper far right side of the page (blue button).
Step 3:
Keep the headings on the first five tasks on your About Me page for each of the tasks below.
Step 4:
Complete the following tasks.
Tasks
1) Meaningful Quote:
“If life gives you lemons, make apple juice, then everyone will wonder how you did it”
-Mitch Griego
I chose this quote because I thought it was trying to be both inspiring, and funny at the same time. Something about this quote actually makes me question whether or not it’s meant to be inspirational (maybe it’s just me- again, I don’t know why”. I don’t know what exactly made me think of this quote when I first read the question, but I’ve always thought of this one when asked to think of a quote (whether it’s inspirational or not).
2) Embedded Video:
I wanted to add this video because I like listening to music like this- mostly because I tend to get distracted easily, and like listening to something while I work. Though I like using this as I work, it’s not the usual choice I go to, and instead usually listen to music saved directly on my phone. This is more what I wish “watched” more.
3) Inspiring Picture:
I liked this photo, because it made me think of the symbolism for both main parts of this photo (the tree and the sunrise). The tree made me think of growth, and getting older; while the sunrise seemed more symbolic of new beginnings- as if it’s showing a person or thing starting over as they grow (in a “new year, new me” kind of way). I don’t know why this photo counts as inspiring- maybe it’s just because it looks pretty – but whether it is or not, it makes me think.
4) Create a Hyperlink:
https://www.servicescape.com/writing-prompt-generator
This link leads to a website about writing prompts/ideas for whatever genre is wanted. I really enjoy writing, which was why I wanted this link to be part of the Blog. I use this website to create multiple prompts at once, allowing me to continue with multiple ideas at once.
5) Self Assessment:
(no idea if that worked, so I’m going to add a screenshot of it as well.)
6) Change the Blog Theme:
Done.
