Digital Citizenship

  1. Disinformation is false info which is intended to mislead, especially propaganda issued by a government organization to rival power or media.
  2. Disinformation impacts a community by creating false/untrue opinions on certain topics that may be important.
  3. A real-world example of disinformation is the Russia/Ukraine crisis where Russia purposefully held off information about the situation to their citizens, downplaying their actions.

“These activities include the spread of disinformation and propaganda attempting to paint Ukraine and Ukrainian government officials as the aggressor in the Russia-Ukraine relationship.  Such measures are intended to influence Western countries into believing Ukraine’s behaviour could provoke a global conflict and convince Russian citizens of the need for Russian military action in Ukraine.” –  https://www.state.gov/fact-vs-fiction-russian-disinformation-on-ukraine/

  4. A situation related to disinformation has affected me personally was when one time a person who did not like my friend lied to me purposefully to make my friend look worse in my eyes.
