Vigil Apparel

A Quick Overview:

Vigil Apparel was created in order to honor the death of Virgil Abloh and was originally created by Dominik Salceda and Tristan Jupp. They had come up with the brand name “Vigil” and had already begun the basic design and ideas of the company. Later, I was added to the group, and I came in with the intention to help them further their brand name and make some physical models of items that would show what we have created in a physical form.

Vigil Apparel Website

https://vigilapparel.carrd.co/

This is the official website for Vigil Apparel, which includes information about Vigil Apparel and why we decided to create it. to give a short overview, it was to carry out Virgil Abloh’s honor and legacy, and aims to recapture the essence of Virgil’s work. on top of that, it also has tees that I, Dominik Salceda, and Tristan Jupp have created.

CNC Lil Vigil

This is a CNC routed image of Lil Vigil, a key piece in mine, Tristan Jupp, and Dominik Salceda’s passion project. This item was relatively easy to create, although we had some troubles figuring out how big we should CNC route it, and how to get the program working altogether as it had been a while since any of us had used the application. This specific item was mostly made by Tristan and DK, although I did help out a little in creating this CNC route.

Lil Vigil Sticker

This is a sticker of Lil Vigil that was traced and cut by myself using the sticker cutter machine. This was probably the simplest of the 2 Lil Vigil items we have made in the drafting class, as we had already drawn the basic outline prior to the sticker cutting, so all we had to do was trace it and cut it out on the sticker cutter. A lot of credit for this goes to DK and Tristan though, as they were the ones who originally designed Lil Vigil, and it wouldn’t be possible to make this without the original drawing, making this a group effort and successful creation.

3D Lil Vigil

This is a 3D printed model of Lil Vigil, a piece that I made using Blender from scratch. This was by far the most difficult of the 3 to create, as it was hard finding the right shapes and sizes to draw and print it so that the details would be clear when the final product was out and is the piece that I am the proudest of in our passion project. Again, a lot of credit for this goes to DK and Tristan though, as they were the ones who originally designed Lil Vigil, and it wouldn’t be possible to make this without the original drawing, making this a group effort and successful creation.
