Who am I?

I am Lucas, born in April at the New Westminster hospital at 2 am. I was raised in the city of Coquitlam and still living there to this day. Not only that, but I started at Leigh Elementary through Minnekhada middle, to Terry Fox secondary. During that time I found many hobbies and sports on the way, such as play hockey, soccer, table tennis, chess, and video games.

What is important to me?

Some of the things that are significant to me is the city I live in. I say this because the one person that is really influential to me is terry fox. I think terry fox is critical to me because he raised a lot of money for cancer research, and he was born and raised in the city i live in, which is pretty cool in my opinion. Likewise, I also have many other powerful things to me, such as my hockey career, my family, and my school grades.

Who inspires me?

I have many people who inspire me in my life, but the one that I have chosen is terry fox. The Reason why I have chosen terry fox is that he is a significant symbol to Canada and Port Coquitlam. Terry grew up in the city of Port Coquitlam and went to a school named after him after his death. He started in the Atlantic Ocean and start the marathon of hope. His goal was to persuade every Canadian to donate one dollar for cancer research.

What is STEAM?

The STEAM program that I have been accepted in is a program about your imagination in engineering, with access to many machines and tools. The Word STEAM stands for Science, technology, Engineering, arts, and mathematics. When taking the STEAM course, the schedule is a day 1 to day 2 type of schedule, and you alternate the classes from science and drafting for day one and math and technology education for day 2 all year. The STEAM teachers are the best teachers that have taught me in my school career, they’re nice funny, and they will help you when you’re stuck on a problem.

Why did I choose to explore steam?

I have chosen to explore STEAM because I want to use this program to become a civil engineer when I grow up. The machines and tools here help me make what ever I want with my projects and group assignments. I was really happy to see the STEAM at terry fox start, so I applied and got in, which made me happy. During this course, I am going to work hard for a good job that is based on this program.
