What is Robotics 11?
Robotics 11 is well essentially a class where you get introduced to the world of robotics. The class teaches how to use and create projects/programs with the 5 most beginner friendly and widely known robotic programs for beginners. In this term, we had learnt about Arduino, Lego Mindstorms, Micro::Bits, Phidgets, and Spheros. So far, me and my groupmate Lucas have only been able to complete the Spheros, Micro::Bits, Mindstorms, and Phidgets (Forgot to record this one so, it will be added later).
Spheros Project:
For the Spheros Project we had to find 2 projects online and either remake them to our own liking or follow the steps to learn the basics of robotics. In our group we ended up making our programs for Spheros. One was where we would test out a human controller and the bot controlling itself and seeing who can complete a maze faster. Another was us testing out the moveability of the Spheros by conducting a sumo fight. And the last one was a simple dice game.
Micro::Bits Project:
For the Micro::Bits project, we created 3 minigames you could play with the Micro::Bit. Those three games being space invader LED edition, Flappy bird, and hot potato DEATH version. Oh and we also made a compass that shows the degrees, coordinates, and what way your are facing (North or South, etc.).
Lego Mindstorms Project:
For the Lego Mindstorms project we had simply created our own bots for two tests setup by our teacher Mr. Csuka. One being a push test where our bot was able push 6990 grams/15.15 pounds and the other being a speed test, where despite going diagonal our bot was able to finish within 7.3 seconds.
Phidgets Project:
For the Phidgets Project we had created a simple LED game. Where when you click the button the led lights up. This was then turned into a two player game where you try to match the button clicking timing with the LED turning on. The next one was using one of the components of the Phidgets box to detect the temperature of the room and display onto your screen. And then the final project was simply a memory game where you see the LED’s turn on and off in a particular order, and then you try to replicate that order and it gets harder and harder the each time you get it correct.
