Drafting 9

In drafting this year I have created 1, 2 and 3 point perspective drawings, isometric drawing making stickers using the sticker cutter, create carboard/wood cutouts using laser box, create a 3d biome using both the sticker cutter and laser box, create dice using fusion 360, create a 3d boat using the 3d printer and create a floor design using fusion 360.

For my 1 point perspective I had decide the create a simple house. The hardest part of creating a first person perspective is getting everything to make it look like it’s from one point.

For my 2 point perspective I also chose to create a house because I got good at creating the from re-drawing my 1 point perspective. The only real challenge I had while making this drawing was trying to put the reflection into the water which i decided not to do.

For my 3 point perspective I decide that I would just create multiple buildings on a street. I didn’t make the buildings to complex because I didn’t want to be late for this project so I put straight lines down to

make it look almost like windows. The hardest part was shading the buildings and sky because i didn’t want to ruin the look of the buildings.

Isometric drawing are really neat in my opinion. It’s cool to me for a couple of reasons, the first reason is that it is 3d and the second reason is that it looks like it’s going in a straight line.

For my first sticker that I created I went with something not too difficult. For the first bit of creating the sticker it was somewhat difficult because I had no idea what I was     doing, but after a bit i figured out how to do it with the help of some of my friends. For my first sticker that I made I did an okay job.

Now for my second sticker design I decided to not do 2 colours but instead do 4 colours. It took me awhile to get the hand of making the parts different colours but i figured it out pretty quickly. The hardest part of using 4 separate colours was putting them into the correct spot without messing up the other colours, but in the end it worked out pretty well.

Lastly for my third and last sticker I created I decided to create my initials. I also would later decide to use the same design for my carboard/wood cutout. I decided to go for something more easy and not to go for something very fancy and it was a good choice because it ended out looking very good.

Creating the carboard cutout was a lot of fun because of how easily it is to create. All I had to do was was create an outline shape for my design and cut in laser box.

For my second design I had decided to create a more complex design instead of another simple one. I thought that putting an animal on it would looks cool so I decided to put a wolf onto my second design.

For the biome project me and my friend decided on creating an ocean biome. We chose it because we thought that not a lot of people would create one also. We used both our drawing and sticker cutting skills to create this biome. In the end we thought that it looked pretty close to an ocean.

Creating the dice was a lot of fun but one of the hardest things for me to do this year. Creating the dice on fusion 360 was the hardest part in my opinion because you had to make it 3d, but other that that creating the dice was pretty easy and fun.

One of my most favourite parts of this year was creating  3d boats and seeing how many pennies it could hold up.

I decided that for my boat I would create a boat with the most surface area because I thought that it would be the most efficient. The first time I 3d printed the boat I made the floor and walls too thin so when I went to take it out of the 3d printer it broke. So I had to fix that problem and make the walls thicker which was not that difficult. In the end the boat held up 8 Pennies that weighed 2.35g each while the boat weighed 6.66g so I found that a success.

Drafting Hyde Creek Boat Race:

Jan 26 2024.

The Hyde Creek boat race was a very fun experience for me because we got to create a carboard boat and race it in the Hyde Creek swimming pool.

Before we were able to race boats we had to create them. To do that we started with 1 piece of giants carboard 1 roll of duct tape and 1 roll of a water proof tape. The design was very simple and not that effective. The design was almost like my 3d printed boat but had 2 fins in the bottom of it. Creating the boat took around an hour and a half with 4 people working on it because the measurements were not perfect so we had to redo parts of it.

During the race we did okay. The factors that caused it to be not so good was our teammate doing a race before ours so he got water into the boat and the paddles we made did not work. Things that we would do to improve it is making the boat thinner so it could cut through water better and making paddles that worked.

In the end I had a lot of fun with it and would love to do it again just with a few improvements.

Office:

So far we have just started creating the sketch for the floor model. Me and my partner are creating a 2 story building. One of those floors are an office floor. For the office floor we went with what we thought a basic office looked like.

For the living quarters of the building we had no idea where to put the rooms so we decided that we would put them in random spots and this was the final design:

This is what I am on for the Steam tower:
