egg drop

this was a small project that we completed in just a few days for the first week of school. the task was to used recycled items to make a container that would be able to save an egg from break when dropped off the balcony of the commons in our school. me and my partner used a plastic cut with a lid, lined with news paper for cushioning, and foam and the top and bottom to absorb the impact. we wrapped the cup up with insulation foam and dropped it off the ledge. the egg sadly did not survive, i think this was because the cup had become decently heavy with the egg inside so the foam and the newspaper still were not strong enough to absorb the impact.

perspective drawings

this was another assignment that our class had done last year. map out perspective line and then draw some sort of scenario or scene that depicts the perspective it was being shown in.

the 1 point perspective was the one i am most proud of, i think my line work has improved.

space model

we had an astronomy unit in our science class, my area of the solar system to research was the asteroid belt. for my model i created the dwarf planet Ceres, it is the biggest body in the asteroid belt. it was made out of a Styrofoam ball, with paints and a bit of hot glue.

gravity car

for this project i work with my friends Colin Blais, and Sam McCaskill. we put together a triangle shaped body with a pink sticker off to the side that i designed and cut out using the vinyl cutter. the body was made out of cardboard, glue together with hot glue and hooked into each other with cardboard notches on all sides. the back wheels were given to us as part of criteria but they were much bigger than the card board wheels for the front. the front axel was made with a barbecue skewer. the car as a whole was not too efficient in the end, but we did our best.

Bath Bomb

for the bath bomb assignment i made a thin heart shaped mold that i designed in fusion 360. it was made out of black plastic and it was quite thin. when i put the bath bomb mold into it, like many other molds, it didn’t come out. i had to sacrifice my mold to get my bath bomb out of it.
