This is a 3D printed launcher. The design for this launcher was made using Fusion 360 and Tinker CAD. The launcher uses elastic rubber bands to accelerate the projectile. To fire the launcher you have to pull back the handle and it will automatically clip into place. The last step would be to press on the trigger.
The launcher fires a projectile approximately 2cm in diameter and the weight is about 3g.
Version 1-2 issues:
-The trigger didn’t have enough strength and was also to short.
-The barrel was printed horizontally so it created lines that increased resistance making the launcher less efficient.
-Some parts exploded due to the tension produced by the rubber bands (reprinted to handle more tension, making the launcher launch the projectiles at higher speeds).
-New projectiles are more aerodynamic. There first versions where discs 1.5 cm in diameter and weighting 1g. The last version is 2cm in diameter and weighting 3g. By making the projectiles more aerodynamic I made them more efficient so the launcher can now launch three times the weight with higher speeds and also more accurately. (the projectiles in the picture are version 1)
