1) Meaningful Quote:

“If you trade your authenticity for safety, you may experience the following: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, rage, blame, resentment, and inexplicable grief. – BrenĂ© Brown

I chose this quote because I can relate to it. As I was scrolling through the internet looking for a quote, I stumbled across this one and my heart jumped. This is exactly my problem. I often don’t allow myself to be well, myself because for some reason I feel vulnerable to say the least. So I put on a “mask” for “protection”. But like it predicts in the quote, this causes one to obtain severe mental health issues. And for me that was anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, resentment, and ultimately numbness. However, not to worry. Now I am in a good place where I have healed almost completely and grown as a person.

2) Embedded Video:

I chose this video because first of all, I’m a dancer. And I LOVE watching others dance, almost as much as I like to dance myself. It’s incredibly inspirational and emotional for me to do so, and this video in particular really stimulated all of my senses, feelings, and ideas in relation to dance. It reminded me of one of Travis Wall’s contemporary dances from a dance competition show my family and I used to watch (before it got cancelled because of COVID-19), SYTYCD. It’s also so interesting to watch different people take on the same choreography and make it their own. And what’s more is that I really like this song, dance studio, and production.

3) Inspiring Picture:

I chose this picture simply because her outfit is EVERYTHING. I adore the green, mesh knit theme going on. And I love the contrast of the cute, fitted, lacy cami and the chill, loose, dark wash jeans. Her jewelry is so subtle, but it adds such a nice, sophisticated touch. And I’m in love with her hat and bag (and just hats and bags in general), which in my opinion brings the whole outfit together. I never used to be that into fashion, that is until I saw this picture in my Instagram feed a few months back. Since then, I’ve been obsessed with browsing through Pinterest, shopping, and putting together cute outfits like this one (which I’ve already recreated by the way).

4) Create a Hyperlink:

Tasty – Food videos and recipes

I chose this hyperlink because it’s my go-to website for recipes (if I’m not using my grandma’s/mom’s cookbook). And let me tell you, I’ve learned and laughed a whole lot using it. I love everything about it. From the recipes and layout, to the videos and people. It’s convenient, appealing, and well, tasty. And so far I haven’t made anything that I’ve disliked or didn’t turn out. You see, I’m an aspiring chef. And I’m hoping to open a bakery I’d like to name after my childhood nickname, “Missy Muffin”. In regards to that, one of their video series, “Tasty 101” has been extremely helpful to me. I’ve gained some pretty handy and basic, but important tips and tricks. And I’ve also gotten to better understand the science behind it all, which I honestly love! I’ve been able to alter and create my own recipes as well. And now, everything just seems to taste ten times better. Maybe I’m biased, you tell me.
